I'm not knowledgeable about BS at all, but remember my having read
stories about Lawrence of Arabia and his love of BS. The source was 
rather general and was not a motorcycle magazine, so it may as well 
have had something incorrect...

Bruff, if the article I read about him was correct.

Reportedly, he did en route. By the way, his BS was customized to have the 
rear wheel of a little smaller size, as he was not tall enough. He did not
wish this slight imbalance to be noticed by anyone, so both sides of the 
wheel were aesthetically covered up by leather saddlebags of military use. 
Sounded subtle, introvert and British to me.
