I believe I have stock springs on my Bugeye.  I also have 195 wide
tires in the back.  The tires only scrape the springs (and only slightly)
under hard cornering.  It's been a while since I've had the rear wheels off
(and I have too many cars to remember all the details of all of them!), so
I don't remember if there is a spacer between the hub and rim.
