Yeah, I'm thinking in that direction. The alternator is only 6 months old, but
if the alternator is shorting the battery somehow, that'll do it. If the
terminals are disconnected from the alternator, should there be any resistance
from the alt terminals to ground? Since the ignition light is connected
between the alternator and the coil/dist, if the alt is shorted providing power
to the lamp, the ground is provided by the coil/distributor path. Correct??
