I'm having some electrical problems on my '73 GT6. I haven't had time to take a
real close look, but maybe someone else has had this same problem. I got home
last night with no problems, but noticed that when the key is OFF, the ignition
light is lit. When I turn the key to ON, the oil & brake lights light, but the
ignition light goes out. When I start the car, the ignition, brake and oil are
not lit as normal. All other electrical stuff works OK. I took the ignition
lamp out, so it wouldn't be lit all night. When I got in it this morning, the
battery was totally dead, just CLICK when I turned the key. I had no other
starting problems before today. Obviously there's a short somewhere, pointing
somewhere to the ignition. One thing I did check real quick was to see if
there was power at the coil with the ignition off, no power at the coil.
Anyone ever see this problem before???
Thanks,
Mike G.
