Reply to: RE>TR2-4 generator mounts
Dick Nyquist writes that the "angling-in" of TR2-4 generators is due to
hardware wearing out because of the humongous 20mm belt.
**** My generator came up angled, even though the generator was a nearly-new
rebuilt unit, and all the hardware was in good shape. The angling-in was
obviously not due to worn hardware. If all else is OK, parallelism of the
generator is controlled by the holes in the U-bracket. Apparently, these were
not in line. Or is it possible that the original generators had "offset" ears
on their end-plates?
The "fix" was fairly severe; I had to weld up the original rear hole in
the "U" bracket and drill a new one.
