Jerry Kaidor pointed out that many old TRs ar running around with generators that are not in the same plane as crankshaft. He asked if this is "standard". I'd say it's not "standard" but it is typical. These cars use belts that are 20 mm wide (about twice as wide and twice as thick as mortal cars) Keeping them tight puts a lot more force on the generator pully and generator mounting. Fortunatly TR used stronger then normal pullys and mountings, so they continue to run for a long time even though badly worn out. /dickn |
