Folks-

Jerry Kaidor <Jerry_Kaidor.ENGINTWO@engtwomac.synoptics.com>, on the
subject of "Storing Old Parts" says (in part) ...

>>> I was just thinking about the burdens of owning a rare, old car. One
of them .... But here is another, more subtle, burden: I can't seem to
bring myself to throw anything away. <<<

It can get worse.

Even loving them as much as I do, I haven't owned a Britcar since I sold
my last Bugeye in '68.

BUT I STILL HAVE THE DAM' PARTS!

For 24 years, I've been moving a couple of boxes of Britcar parts
around with me, saving them against the day when I'd have another.

But I know a guy who is worse than I am. He lives on a farm down in
middle Georgia, and on that farm there are about 30 Britcar hulks,
calmly rusting away in a grove of pine trees. The hulks belong to the
farm's former owner, and he refuses to sell them. In fact, he won't
even sell parts off them.

He says he's gonna restore them.

The cars have been untouched for at least 10 years, and most of them are
now past the point of restoration.

Is there a "British Car Parts Anonymous?

Is this where we start the twelve-step program?

"My name is Shel, and I save parts off old British cars..."
