Your tranny would have to be rebuilt, as the overdrive gearbox uses a
shorter mainshaft than the non-overdrive unit.  The '74 gearbox, OD and
driveshaft would bolt right into the 1500, I think.

And the overdrive would change your ratio by 0.8 or so.
