Why would the insulation melt on the white wire supplying 12 volts
to the coil on my TR250? Does this indicate a problem in the coil?
I've stripped away about a foot of wiring harness wrapping to find an
undamaged point where I can splice in a new wire, but so far the whole
thing is fried. It looks like I'll have to go all the way to the fusebox.
Is there anything besides black electrical tape that I can use to rewrap
the harness?
Final question: Three white wires -- two on one terminal, one on the
other -- come into the fusebox. The set of two wires joined to a single
clip apparently goes to the coil. Does anybody know what the second wire
of the two on that clip is for?
