I've had the same experience with Triumphs Only, I hardly shop there anymore.
Half the time Wayne's not there and he seems to be the only one that deals with
parts. I bought a used GT6 tranny there a few years ago. It was supposed to
be good, but it would pop out of second gear. So I pulled it out and brought
it back. He grumbled about it, but they replaced all the synchro rings and it
worked fine after that. The mechanic there seems pretty good, but he had some
kid there doing the crap work and he told him to open up the tranny when I
returned it. He opened it up on the floor and promptly scattered the bolts all
over the floor and went to do something else. So it's like, I don't think I'll
bring anything here to be worked on. Also, when I first got the tranny, I
needed a clutch alignment tool. Wayne gave me a front shaft to use and said
"I'll loan this to you, but make sure you return it, these are really hard to
get." When I picked up the tranny the second time I told the mechanic I still
had the shaft and he said "oh, don't worry about it we've got tons of them
around here". He will pull the wool over your eyes if he can.
About the LBC ads, I took them right out of the paper and knew nothing else. I
just posted them FYI and mainly because of the $375 GT6.
