When faced with a british car that will not start but did start just the other day I have found that the best things to do are 1) check the point gap, and 2) check the point gap. Electrical problems are much more likely than fuel problems and in particular the little nylon part on the points tends to wear rapidly on old distributors. Note that the reason a strong 'blue' spark is required is because the weak 'yellow' spark will not fire a plug under compression. |
