Low oil pressure might be a symptom of worn bearings and/or oil pump. I had a similar situation on my TR-4A when I bought it; I took a day, dropped the pan, swapped in new big end bearings and a rebuilt oil pump, and the oil pressure problems went completely away. The low oil pressure at idle isn't so bad. My problem was that after an hour or so at freeway speeds, oil pressure would drop to 35psi and I just wasnt' comfortable with that. |
