Right off I don't know much about triumph frames but I have seen a half dozen or so MGA's with either a 302 or 289 V8's in them. Most of these conversions incorporated a differnt rear axel but were otherwise unchanged. So I'm guessing that if the increase of torque by a factor of five or greater doesn't cause the A trouble, I doubt much if increasing the torque by a piddling 50% or so will either. But maybe there are big differences in frame/structure between the two cars. just a thought. eric. |
