HEAVY FRAME???? 8^)
Mike,
These frames realy do weigh only about 110 lbs when stripped AND they are very
wasp waisted so they are not very rigid. They are basicly sheet metal. 1.6 liter
is a long way from 2.5 liter and the differance is all stroke (over an inch)
The parts will fit together and will probably be just fine if you don't push it
hard all the time. It will be a great little car for crusing around and will
surprise a few cars. But you probably wouldn't be doing all that work if you
didn't plan to push it.

I was looking at some Spitfires in the pits at SearsPoint last week end. Even
with the 4banger they add a lot of additional bracing when they are racing.

How much HP can be gotten out of a juiced up Spit 1500?
| Also, I've never seen a Vitesse, only in pictures. Were these only made for
| Great Britain?

No, some were imported. I have a friend who has one. The Vitesse hardtops were
very hot in competion in Great Britian. I don't recall the convertables being
used much though.
