You can't lower the engine in its present position very much because the rack
is mounted immediately below the engine block up front (in a GT6...). The
only way to do this effectively is to move the engine back. The easy way to
do this is to reverse the GT6 tower supports so their engine mounting surface
is at the rear. And even here, I think the frame will interfere if you try
to lower the engine any - but then again, the front of the engine should be
clear of the hood...
Of course, the above involves getting the driveline shortened (cheaper than
one would imagine), and some machine work and body cutting of your choice
to get everything to fit (and the shifter back where you can reach it...).
