Suggest reflective muffler tape on the trans side for patching
and duct tape on the other to seal it.  I mentioned spraying
the inside with heat reflective paint previously to cure heat
problems, it would be interesting to know if this works...  Have
to make sure its no in any way flammable!  The carpet covers all,
just seal it well to keep out the water.

Replacements are too cheap to expend much effort on this.
