\This has spoke rims.
Certainly not original.

No kidding? Never heard of these. Were they the same wheels later offered on
the Spridgets? I have heard of Sebring Sprites, but they were quite different:
Fastback coupes with special bodywork. And they had steel disk wheels, I
believe. To be a Le Mans car, I would assume a longer gear ratio for top end.
I never knew of anything longer than the 4.22:1 standard gears until the 1275
Spridgets started using the 3.90:1 gears (1969? I don't know).
*When I got my car, I also got an old Haynes-style
service manual for the Bugeye (but not later models), and
in it along with a side by side comparison of the stock
Bugeye with one fitted with a supercharger, they road
tested a Bugeye with the "Le Mans" option. (I hope I'm
remembering it right). I also vaguely remember a
reprint of Road & Track on Austin-Healey showing an old
performance data sheet on a car with the same such
option. I'll be up at the warehouse this weekend & I'll
see if I can dig it up to verify.*

How would the seller know it is a "Le Mans Bugeye"? For that matter, how can
John find out? Are there serial numbers? I just don't remember ever hearing
about these things. Where did you find out about them?
*Well, if I'm correct in remembering this as that
option, a trace certificate from BHMIT would definitely
show it.*

Well, my Lotus is not that lustrous, but someday in the future...
*Just owning it is enough, you dog*
