Larry,
The Ford X-Flow as fitted to Non-twincam Cortina Mk 2s and Escort 1, 2
and 3s is just about the most tuned engine in older cars in Britain.
Caterham still sell the 7 and 7 Sprint with tuned versions of this engine.
There are about 6 or companies specialising in supplying tuning parts and tuned
engines. Let me know what you're interested in and I'll let you know.

Try and mail me direct and I might be able to reply likewise, unless there are
others who would be interested.

The Kent engine to me is the pre-crossflow headed OHV engine as fitted to Mk1
Cortinas etc, The OHC engine(Pinto) started around Cortina 3/4. The 2.0
versionof that engine is a good tuning bet here but the 1.6OHC cannot be tuned
to
produce as much power as the X-flow headed OHV which I take it you have in your
1600 GT.
