Now that the TR8 has new paint, a rebuilt gearbox (second synchro
still seems a little notchy), cleaned up fuel injection, new seat
upholstery, and new tires, I'm finally down to the carpet. What to
do... It is nice to pull up to a gas station and have people come up
to you and say "what kind of a car is THAT?" New paint does
that to a car... Anyway, here's the question.
Being a convertible, the car sat out in California sunshine without
its top up for most of its life. The carpetting is in great shape
except for one thing: it has faded from the navy (which shows
under the seats) to kind of a light grey. Is it worth trying
to dye it (is that even possible?) or should I just tear it out
and put in new stuff? Any suggestions?
