I know that as the oil heats up it gets thinner (like when you heat pancake
syrup it gets thinner). When the oil gets thinner, the pressure goes down
because it is easier to pickup.
but if it is getting to the point that the light stays on, the pressure is
too low. I would drop the pan and take a look to see if the lifting tube had
slipped down and it is sucking air. But is you drop the pan, you might as
well just change the pump. they are not that much.
