10 yrs ago, I noticed a popular car restoration guide (forgot the name but
it had a brown/white '56 chevy on the cover) advocated conversion to
silicone for the kind of infrequent use typical of special interest cars.
The book made it sound like it was no big deal if a complete restoration on
the brake system was being done anyhow. Is that a fair assessment (if
anyone has experience in this)? ...Or is it a nightmare ? ... for all the
cars which are NOT having good restoration part support (eg. good part
support would be like that seen for 64-66 mustangs, 55-57 chevys).
Even if it only prevented the master cylinder from rusting, it sounded
intriguing.
