Well, it's summer in Miami, and traffic is abominable. I'd say a damn good
test for the modified Brick. The B should now pushing about 325hp meaning
even more heat load. The changes to the cooling system include a fixed 17"
non flex race fan,
stock shroud,
a direct fit 4-row AMC recore
16lb cap,
twin 10" low profile elec fans in push mode ahead of the condenser
controlled at 180 degrees,
an edelbrock victor waterpump, and a 160 stat.
Try-y headers are fully wrapped down to the flange.

Here are some results, some unexpected.
After two hours in bumper to bumper midday traffic with the a/c on full
blast, temps reach about 210, but quickly return to 180 with some open road.
Hi speed cruising 70+ with the FMX tranny holds at about 180, and at night
below that about 160 -170. Oddly, going from city to highway, temps
consistently drop. This is the reverse of the typical Brick. The odd temp
increase in stock Bs at certain speeds is no longer apparent. There are no
additives other than standard antifreeze.
