Jim Wajda sent out a copy of the BOOM's Phoenix (Bricklin Owners Of Michigan
newsletter), and asked me pass on the following for your information and for
use on the website (Ron, John & Scott - you listening? ;) ). Obviously,
BOOM's members and those of us fortunate enough to be on Jim's mailing list
got the information, but this is for those that didn't.

The meet officially opens at 8 PM, Wednesday, July 21st at the Bricklin
Hospitality suite in the Ramada Hotel in LaPorte, Indiana. The Ramada will
have set aside a parking area for the Bricklins, so please park in this
area. In the hospitality suite, you will find a bar and Bricklinalia table
full of Bricklin merchandise. If you haven't pre-registered (highly
recommended!), you will also be able to do so at that time. Those that have
pre-registered can check-in, and also obtain an updated schedule of events.
Raffle or auction items you have donated may be left at the hospitality
suite upon your arrival. Since this is mid week, roughly ten Bricklins are
expected on the first day, primarily made up of core members and directors
of the club. Everyone is welcome!

Activities continue on Thursday, Friday & Saturday. You can go on as many or
as few events as you would like. Every night we will come back to the
hospitality suite for a big get-together and the raffle. The club sells
raffle tickets and will raffle off gag gifts and trinkets donated by club
members. The more expensive donations will be auctioned off on Saturday
night at the awards banquet.

Terry Tanner is this year's banquet guest speaker. For those of you who
don't know Terry Tanner, you should! He is the Bricklin Guru who was once an
engineer with General Vehicle and is the Grandfather of the Bricklin. Terry
runs a Bricklin repair shop in Bedford, VA. If you would like to talk with
him about a persistent problem with your Bricklin, or just want some more
information about the Bricklin, he will be there to answer any questions.

Bob Hoffman, who runs 'The Brickyard' in Michigan, will also be there to
walk you through problem areas, or offer solutions to your problems. He is
very friendly and very knowledgeable. Just grab him and start talking. His
shop is located in Brighton, MI., and services Bricklins by appointment
year-round.

A number of people have indicated that they were interested in the Bricklin,
and perhaps ready to purchase a car. Some are planning to come to the meet
to gather information on the car. For those of you looking for a Bricklin to
purchase, there may be some for sale at the show on Saturday. If not - Terry
and Bob certainly have cars in various stages of repair for sale. If you are
interested in a specific car for sale -- make sure that you are around the
car while it is being judged on Saturday. The Judges will certainly give you
an honest opinion on price and condition.

The drag racing event last year was a great success. We hope for a bigger
turnout of cars this year. Most owners were on the sidelines watching the
races. It was a great experience. The AM General Hummer factory is another
'can't miss' event. The factory has opened its doors for our group to see
the assembly of Hummers for civilian and military uses. Many of the ladies
in Bricklin International expressed an interest to go to a casino -- ask and
you shall receive! -- we have a trip planned to the Blue Chip Casino. We
also have a trip planned to the Studebaker museum in Southbend Indiana. This
is a rather large museum with some great exhibits.

On Saturday, we have a very special car show planned. It is at the Door
Prarie Auto Museum in LaPorte. We will hold the show in front of the Museum
and the club will provide a Pizza lunch in the Museum. The Museum features
over 50 cars -- including a Bricklin! This is sure to be one of the finest
and exciting shows that Bricklin International has ever presented. Make sure
you are a part of the excitement!!

So get ready -- because we have a lot of activities planned -- and everyone
should have a great time. Make reservations now, because they probably won't
be available in July.
