Hello Everyone,
Has anyone had trouble reinstalling a distributor? This weekend we replaced
the intake and carb on #1080 (75) and had trouble getting the distributor to go
back into the block. We marked the location of the rotor so that we would not
have to find TDC and when I tried to put the distributor back into the block it
would go in and the rotor would make contact with the gear and shaft at the
bottom but seems still is 1" from being flush with the block.
Any help? - am I missing something? Does the motor have to be cranked by
hand to get it to drop into place? I remember replacing the intakes on my
Mustang (including removing the dist. and reinstalling it) without any
trouble....
