Hank,
After following some advice that I received here earlier I bought some gas
tank liner from JCWhitney for $24 (I think). It was a 3 part kit that included
some acid to get rid of the old rust, a prep liquid (some kind of alcohol
product) and the liner (a rubber/latex type of paint). I used this on #23 and
#1080 (#1080 having much more rust than #23) and It seemed to work pretty well.
#23 is running again and #1080 is still waiting for me to reinstall the tank.
If I were you I would give it a try. Many people seem to swear by this stuff
and I think that it works pretty well.

                                                Jamie

ps - where are you located in balto? I live in the Rossville area and both
of the Bricklins are in Belair. you are welcome to take a look if you wish.

Subject: BRICKLIN GAS TANK

Has anyone encountered rust on the inside of the gas tank?
I recently discovered my fuel line clogged. Tracking it back I found
that the fuel sending unit was clogged with rust particles. After
removing the gas tank I discovered a thin layer of rust on the upper
half of the tank.
        1. Is there any way to clean it?
        2. Is a replacement tank and sending unit still available?

I appreciate any help.....
                        Thanks---- hank wolinski (balto., md.)
