No apologies required. Welcome. Stick around long enough and
everything will repeat.

========
I don't understand why they should get so hot. The exhaust should be
routed around the seating area. This is what makes the center tunnel
hot. A quick fix would be to remove the seats, carpet and line the
area with aluminum foil and jute padding under the carpet.

 After the seats get hot the a/c doesn't

With the A/C charged and any leaks in the ductwork patched, you can
store meat in one.

>2) Has any one tried sanding acrylic on a faded color to uncover
the
>original pigment?
========
You can sand with 400 wet or dry then with 600 wet or dry and
finally with 900 wet. Buff at 2500rpm with 3M Finesse-it II
Finishing Material 051131-05928 using a Meguiar's W-1000 or equal
foam pad. Wax with Liquid Crystal or equal. Done right it will equal
the best hot rod finishes and if a fly lands on it he'll slip and
bust his ass. BTW, the panels will still most likely be mismatched
color wise. Only white was consistantly even; green and orange the
worst. The color was mixed into the acrylic and it seems not very
consistantly from batch to batch. The acylic doesn't protect the
color from UV either, so it can fade or become milky looking.
========
>3) Has anyone found a comfortable substitute seat that fits?
========
I've measured the seats in my '88 RX-7 and I believe they will fit.
We find them very comfortable even on 600mi days and have speakers
in the headrest as a bonus. Years ago Recaro made a universal
replacement seat called the RS? that I've seen in several Bricklins.
It also had speakers as an option. BTW, the RX-7 seats are little
more than ripoffs of the Recaro.
