Steve,
There's not too much useful on that particlual car especially since it
doesn't have AC.
However, I did strip one for parts. Depends on you tools and how much
work you want to do. I'd take the following parts:
gas tank & mounting straps & J bolts
front suspension - tie rod & ends, steering box if power steering,
lower control arms, spindles, etc.
Shock towers & upper control arms - the spring are no good, and you'll
need a cutting tourch or a sawzall,
Rear end - even though it's a 6 cyl. if anything happens to your V8
rear end, you can press the 6 cyl into service, just
keep you foot out of the accelerator,
Wiring harness - you never know when you need to patch some wiring
Heater box & core - I don't know if the no AC boxes are the same as the
AC boxes, but you'd get a heater core & motor. Also
take the control panel and all the wires for the
door mech. the vacumn control switch on the box.
head lights - I believe the headlight buckets, adjusters, and bulbs will
transfer
side markers
window crank handles - I even took the regulator mech. I'm pretty sure
they will transfer. Even though these don't break
that often.
windshield wiper motor, transmissions & linkage
all the misc. relays (ie starter solenoid) etc from the engine
compartment
Now if the engine and xmission run, I usually sell them to the AMC fellows
(put an add in the local trading paper) for about $50 each. If the doors,
hood, and trunk deck and front fenders are in good shape I usually sell
them for $10 each. I'd also look at pulling the front windshield, window
glass, and little rear window to sell.
If the car has disk brakes, you might be able to use the calipers and
rotors.
Before you get ride of the hulk, you might want to advertise the floor
pans and rear quarter panels for sale. (If you have a tourch you could
cut them out.) When I'm done stripping the car, I call a local scrap metal
dealer. They will pick up the hulk for between $0 and $20.
Hope this helps.
John
