I always thought that a real Chicago box was a rectangle with one side
left open and a cone in the middle of the open side which you have to
drive around. Depending on the size of the rectangle, it can be Fun,
or Not So Fun. Also known as a three-cone slalom in disguise.
I could be wrong, since I have only been autocrossing long enough to
have seen the last of what I call Chicago boxes fade away as course
features in this region. We may have peope in the region who were
actually around when they were invented, so I'll defer to them if they
say it's something else.
