I disagree with John- I think the Z would be a better street car. It's
similar to my current street car- plenty of torque, not so loud as to
drive you nuts but not so detatched as to put you to sleep. Would be
fun for driving or fun for touring.
Haven't driven the RX-8 yet, but sat in one and sniffed it out. It's a
neat little car, looks very nicely done but just not well suited to my
needs. I'm not very tall but I was grazing the headliner unless I sat
more reclined than my norm. Gas mileage of 18/24 is pretty pathetic
considering you don't get that much speed in return. It's true- early
dynos have been coming in between 173 and the low 180s, so that had
better get sorted out. And it ends up being a car with a very nice
amount of passenger room, but the trunk looks as small or smaller than
the S2000's. What I really need is something like an S2000 El Camino.
Or better yet a Z06 El Camino:)
But enough about me. It really depends on what you want, you'll have to
drive them. They are both really neat cars, but I doubt either will be
the car for BS. I could be wrong though.
