Hello boys and girls. It's poetry hour! All this talk
about the Full Moon over Bonneville got me thinking.
Well, first of all, Elko is nowhere near Bonneville,
so I don't know where my mom got that.

ELKO SKYLINE
Cactus cast long shadows in the desert sand, John
Denver whispers through the speakers, take me home,
country roads, over a low murmer of eight pistons
pumping along the asphalt, tires pounding, we roll,
our machine. The violent jolt, the lurch, the slamming
of cabinet doors, of toy cars crashing to the floor,
the screams of metal on metal, grinding through ear
drumbs, shaking the walls, the cactus sit silently and
observe their new neighbor in the desert. The wind
dances with our hair, taunts us, laughs at us, and we
roll under the sky, once deep blue, now black, with
freckles of stars, it gives us a moon.
