The goal of _what level_ of stock class autocrossing? At (normal)
regional level, I might agree with you. At a national level, stock class
is just another class that people spend big bucks to win. I don't see
that changing.

Feel free to spend your money how you want to, but I bet a lot of money
that if you put that guy or gal in your car they'd go faster than you.
Either way, you'll know how you stack up without spending $3600.

MHO, but I think for anyone other than the top eschelon drivers, spending
more than the cost of Koni Sports (~$600 for most cars i think) is just
peeing in the wind. I think the difference between the shocks is
something that you won't be able to detect until you're trophying in stock
classes at National events.
