Oct. 3, 2000
We had 169 "SCCA card-carrying" entries Sunday, Oct. 1, for the
opening Slush Series event at Golden Gate Fields in Albany, CA, and we were
done by approx. 4 p.m. Obviously we had more than enough to pay the rent.
Soebie ran a tight ship. There were fun runs after 4 p.m.
The remaining '00 Slush Series schedule follows:
It's also printed in the Round 1 results. With any luck the folks assigned
to do the telephone recording and inform the regional publication will do
their assigned job.
(Hint. Hint.)
Sunday, Oct. 8- Marina (CA) Airport-Round 2, 9 a.m. start.
(When entering premises, follow uniformed guard's directions to get
to the pit area. (You will have to drive over a dirt surface in one
section. We've already suggested (what we think of the idea but it's
their property.)
Sunday, Oct. 22- GGF-Round 3, 10 a.m. start.
Saturday, Nov. 4- GGF-Round 4, 10 a.m. start. Food coach not
available this one time.
Sunday, Nov. 5- GGF-Round 5, 10 a.m. start.
It had been considered to make Nov. 4-5 two half-day events. Given
our turnout at the opener, we should be able to make Nov. 4 and Nov. 5 into
regular individual events with full Slush Series points for each.
We have attempted to put something together for Nov. 11-12 but so
far somebody else has GGF.
Our 2001 season will open on Super Bowl Sunday (last Sunday in
January 2001) at the Network Associates Coliseum, Oakland, CA.
