On any controversy on the STS index:
What Andy McKee was upset about last night was the index that Howard Duncan
was using at the San Bernardino Pro, which is quite different from the one we
use generated by Dave Beck. Once Dave gets if PAX indices figured, he won't
change them until 2001, and neither will I. Howie plays his own games, makes
his own rules, some of which we need to pay attention to, like his classes
(Kart, STS, STR, SM--all Howie's), but I'm not changing the PAX index just
because Andy says Howie is playing with numbers. I finally made the clear to
Andy last night after the meeting. Andy prefers the PAX (Dave Beck) ratings
over Howard's, at least they're based on some real numbers.
Thus, no controversy.
