Allen, a friend of mine uses his first-gen Durango to pull his Spec Miata
around the midwest.
He's familiar with towing and had pulled that car or his Solo car quite a bit,
so the balance
and system was fine-tuned.
However, after we went to Road Atlanta a couple years ago and he made it
through the hills
between Iowa and Georgia, he added a weight-distributing hitch. I think the
short-ish
wheelbase of the Durango gave him a little more of a handful than he wanted,
particularly on
a trip that long.
Me, I just use a diesel Excursion with my open trailer and Miata. :-)
