actually my proposal was modeled on the way circle track races are run when
there are a lot more entries than can be accommidated in one race, i.e.
sprint cars, modifieds, etc.
They hold qualifying heats where a certain # of the top spots in each heat
qualify for the feature race (the regional prosolo event points), and then a
second chance consolation race for the non qualifiers with a smaller purse
paying down several places (my Pro Finale event) and the top one or two
finishers from that race transfering to the main or feature race as well
where all the top qualifiers run against each other for the whole ball of
wax.(my Pro National Championship) My proposal rewards consistancy over
several events by giving a guaranteed seed in the championship, gives an
opportunity for a competitor with low points because of strong geographical
competition or other factors to play, and the champion of champions is
decided head to head on a level playing field.
