I have a couple questions about Street Mod. These
are pretty basic mod questions, I'm just trying to
decide what path to take...

Rule: Engine block must be a production unit
manufactured and badged the same as the original
standard or optional engine for that model. Badges
that exist as marketing aliases for the manufacturer
(Honda/Acura, Toyota/Lexus, Nissan/Datsun) will
be recognised as equivalents. Swaps involving
makes related only at a corporate level (Ford/Volvo,
Renault/Nissan Chrysler/Mercedes) are not
recognised as equivalents. Models produced as a
joint venture between manufacturers may utilize any
engine from any partner in the joint venture,
provided that an engine from the desired
manufacturer was a factory option in that particular
model. (e.g. Eagle Talon available with either a
Mitsubishi or Chrysler engine, may use any motor
from Chrysler or Mitsubishi).

Question: I have a hot rod Yugo that used to run in
DSP then OSP, after installing the X1/9 1,500cc
engine. The Yugo, which was developed with Fiat,
and based heavily on the 128 series, was originally
equipped with a 1,100 or 1,300cc version of the
venerable SOHC Fiat engine, which the 1,500cc
version is a variant of. Does the Yugo/Fiat marriage
fall under the "joint venture between manufactures"
(I think so)? So, this means any Fiat engine could
go in a Yugo, right? Even if it were from something
like the 124 Spider, 131 sedan, Dino, Punto Turbo
or whatever, right?
Any help appreciated. I just wanted to make sure
that if I bring little "Tito" out, he would be legal. Yes,
Tito is real. Pics can be found here:
