The situation - My 89 Civic Si is still running the rates that Ground Control
sold me on when it was a daily driver. This is 350#F / 250#R. They are
damped with Tokico Illuminas. It is no longer a daily driver. I think I need
it more stiffly sprung (especially in the rear), but money is tight. So which
of the following bad situations is the most desirable:

Bad Situation 1 (Current) - Springs and dampers are well matched, but both too
soft.
Bad Situation 2 - Stiffer Springs with the current dampers. This will likely
result in it being under damped.

Anyone care to offer an opinion on what to do? I can get some 550# springs
for cheap, but when I asked the Tokico Tech guy if the Illuminas would be OK
he laughed at me :( Unfortunately, Better Dampers aren't an option right now.
A question for when I do get them though - I'm pretty much sold on Koni SA's
for the time being. Will the Off the shelf Koni handle the higher rates OK,
or do they need to be revalved from the get-go?

Thanks,
Dave Hardy
