Why doesn't the ProSolo bumping order use the indexes they've developed for
the Ladies classes? I couldn't be course dependencies since pretty much all
the courses are the same and the Ladies classes have to use this index.
Currently we have some pretty ugly bumping that encourages competitors to
skip an event, or bring in warm bodies to fill a class.
ES and FS have the same ProSolo index (.798), yet ES gets bumped to CS
(.812) and FS gets bumped to BS (.820- Ack!). DSP (.815) gets bumped to CSP
(.835) rather than ESP (.825). CSP gets bumped to ASP (.850) rather than
BSP (.836). If a competitive CSP M3 winds up competitive in BSP, it seems
that the other CSP cars could also be competitive when bumped into BSP. CP
(.855) bumps to BP (.864) rather than DP (.858). DP bumps to EP (.867)
which then gets bumped along with FP (.861) to AP (.873) rather than just
having CP->DP->FP->BP->EP->AP.
And why not bump between ALL categories, not just Street Touring/Street
Mod? Street Touring bump correctly into Stock category classes with
slightly higher indexes, yet DSP (.815) bumps to CSP (.835) rather than BS
(.820), AS (.825) bumps to SS (.840) rather than combining with ESP (.825),
etc.
Here's what seems to make sense as a bumping order. Just bump up with the
lowest class till it gets 5 cars, form a class, and start the process over
with the classes above.
