According to "Road & Track Guide to Performance Cars 1987", from a 1986
road test, the differences between the e and es include:
325es is two-door only, came with LSD standard (optional on 325e, not on
base 325), front spoiler w/integrated driving lights, rear decklid
mounted spoiler, sport seats, different steering wheel, 5-mm shorter
front springs, 10-mm shorter rear springs, lower spring rates front and
rear, stiffer Bilstein gas shocks (in place of twin-tube hydraulic
shocks). The 325es shares the same 121hp low rev eta engine as the
other 325's at the time (the 3-series didn't get the good I6 until '87
with the 325i).
Hope this helps...
