Hey all,
I have a 1986 Honda CRX Si that I use as my daily
driver, and I'm trying to figure out how to make the
car rotate better and not pick up the inside front
tire out of corners. I read about a method that I'm
interested in, but I wanted some opinions. This
method involved welding the rear sway bar so that it
would not move, thus removing roll from the rear of
the car (in case you're not familiar with the design,
the factory rear bar is actually a torsion bar located
inside the rear solid axle that twists to roll).
Actually, the car I read about was Renee Eady's Civic
that competed in STS last season. Given that, it's
probably fairly effective. However, would this be a
reasonable modification for a car that sees mostly
street duty with occasional Solo II time? The rest of
the suspension already has a host of upgrades, with
Koni Sports all around and Ground Control rear
coilovers. I have a Suspension Techniques rear sway
bar on the car now, but it just doesn't work as much
as I want it to, and I'd really like to get the
results without buying another rear bar. And if anyone
is familiar with the process of doing this, let me
know. I'm open to any help on this.
I get the digest version of the list, so please
respond directly if possible. Thanks.
