Technically, you would have ro return the car to its original condition to be
stock class legal. However, if all you want to do is
run regional events, talk it over with your fellow AS(BS) competitors and see
if anyone objects to you running with this
modification. I no-one objects, you're free and clear :) As for ducting in
SP, the rules states "Air ducts may be fitted to the
brakes, provided they extend in a forward direction only, and that no changes
are made in the body/stucture for their use".

Hope this helps,
 Graeme

Subject: brake ducting for stock classes

I drive a 97 M3/4 in AS (BS next year), mostly locally. I'd like
to put brake ducting on it (similar to bimmerworld's setup) for
track events to keep from melting rotors.

If I go ahead and do this, what can I do day of race to make it
stock class legal again? Do I have to remove the brake ducting
and put back the stock pieces? Can I just block them off at the
bumper with a cap over the ends of the hose? Or is there nothing
I can do day of race to stay in a stock class?

This may affect my decision to do brake ducting. I'm considering
BSP next year because locally there won't be much (if any) BS
competition. Is brake ducting legal in street prepared classes?

Thanks.
