Not so hard to address. SEB and Comp Board just issue an edict "As of 1/1/03
cantilever tires will not be permitted."
BTW, tires just sitting on the shelf still get hard with time and exposure
(ozone? I dunno.) So even that stash of 5-year-old Cantilevers would
probably not have the stick of new fresh straightwalls. Never mind that the
tiremakers would come up with some new goo for their compounds (which they
probably will anyway).
Or else I'd have a big run on Formula V Traction Treatment for all those
people trying to restore their stash of fat tires. :-)
