The only thing that keeps the poles up is weight and base width. 16 x 16 x
1/8 gets a large base width with a reasonable weight on each piece. Anything
lighter is not likely to be very stable unless the height of the tape is very
low.
Obviously you need a vehicle or cart to carry the stack of bases around as you
distribute them.
