Don't miss out on the final LTBMotorsport.com/AutomationDirect.com Summer
Saturday Shootout event of 2001. This is head to head racing, autocross
style held at Turner Field in downtown Atlanta, Georgia on August 18th,
2001.
We've made a few changes in response to your requests.
1. We lowered the entry fee to $30.
2. We took away the prize money (sorry but the lower entry fee takes that
money off the table, but we didn't have enough entries at $50 to have any
prize money anyway)
3. We will run a "Novice" bracket for the bottom 16 qualifiers.
4. The regular brackets will be organized with indexes closer together
5. The final bracket for the Overall Win will be a single elimination
bracket.
6. Everyone is guaranteed at least 6 runs on course (unless you leave the
site or break down).
Here's the copy of the flyer and the registration form.

LTBMotorsport.com SSS Series Schedule
7 June 9
7 July 7
7 August 18
What is an Auto-X Tournament?
An Auto-X Tournament differs from a standard autocross (Solo II) in that
cars compete against one another in head-to-head matches rather than
against the clock. The two cars in a match start halfway around the
course from each other and compete through the whole course to see who
gets back to his/her own finish line first. Both finish lines are aligned
to clearly show who wins.
Tournament Brackets, Entry Limit and Minimum Number of Runs
The event is a double-elimination tournament. All competitors will be
grouped into one of 4 main brackets and 1 Novice bracket. Each competitor
will remain in the tournament until he/she loses two matches. The
brackets will be based upon actual entries. Entries are limited to the
first 64 drivers to get their entry fees in. Drivers will get a minimum
of 6 runs. Most will get more than 6 runs.
Competitive Handicapping
We are using a handicapping system based on the RTP (Racers Theoretical
Performance) Index for a a timed delay to equalize between classes.
Series Points Awards
Series Points Awards - LTBMotorsport.com is providing $700 in merchandise
certificates to be awarded to the top points earners for the 3 event

An Auto-X Tournament differs from a standard autocross (Solo II) in that

against the clock. The two cars in a match start halfway around the
course from each other and compete through the whole course to see who

to clearly show who wins.
Tournament Brackets
The event is a double-elimination tournament. All competitors will be
grouped into one of 4 brackets. Each competitor will remain in the
tournament until he/she loses two matches.
Brackets
LTBMotorsports.com pays a purse for series ending points for each of the
4 brackets. We will be setting up those brackets based on the actual
entries to the event.
Competitive Handicapping
We are using a handicapping system based on the RTP (Racers Theoretical
Performance) Index to help equalize competition. We will either use a
distance set-back or timed delay for this handicap.
Qualifying
Everyone will get at least two Qualifying laps which will be run like a
regular Solo 2 event. Series points will be awarded according to
finishing position per group in qualifying. Qualifying position
determines which drivers run against each other at the beginning of your
groups bracket.
Auto-X Tournament Rules
Working Each competitor will be given a work assignment and are
required to work to compete.
Entries per car There will be a maximum of 2 entries per car. However,
each driver will run in a different group from the other drivers in the
same car.
Entries per driver Each driver may enter the Auto-X Tournament only
once.
Order of running The brackets will run in numerical order. Each group
winner will compete for the Overall Prize money in a single elimination
bracket.
Early Elimination - Drivers who are eliminated after 2 runs will compete
in grudge matches within their bracket to fill in time between actual
competition matches. This assures everyone gets at least 6 runs.
Pairings and Lane Choice Each match and lane assignment will be
established by event officials. When your bracket is competing, drivers
shall stay with their cars, in grid, and be ready to be called to the
start at any time. Solo 2 rules about time or car separations between
runs DO NOT apply
The Start After both cars are lined up at their start lines, the
starter will point to each competitor. Wave if you are ready. When the
start light goes on, start your run.
The WINNER will be the first car back to its own finish line. Two
judges must agree, without consultation, which car arrives back first
(except in the case of DNFs or cones hit). If the match is too close to
call the match will be rerun from opposite lanes.
Cones If any cones are hit during a match the competitor that hits the
fewest cones wins.
DNFs DNFs lose. If both drivers DNF in a match, the worst DNF loses. If
both DNFs are equal the match will be rerun.
5 Ways to DNF (Listed in order of importance)
1. Passing the other car is a DNF, unless a course worker waves you on.
2. Not Running Missing a match is a DNF for that match (except for Byes).
3. Not Finishing failing to finish your run.
4. Jumping the Start The Starter and Judges will determine if you start
before the start light goes on.
5. Going Off Course or missing part of the course.
Byes There may be times you have no opponent for a match. You will
advance to the next round without taking that run.
Protests Protests will be handled according to the 2001 SCCA Solo rules
except that the protest fees are doubled.
