Apparently, the insurance says it is a total on
account of the wiring needing to be replaced due to
corrosion, as well as both (they have two?) computers
being completely soaked with water. The service tech
told me that when he took the main box out, he could
shake it and water was trickling out of it.
It also has a bit of the "wet feet" smell to it. Not
pleasant, but way easier to get rid of in a
convertible, than in a coupe.
We went to the viewing, errr, ummm to the dealership
friday to pay our last respects, and to take the
plates off and get our stuff out of it. We're still
waiting to find out what they are going to give us for
it. Still no word on that.
And the worst part of the whole thing?!?!? She wants
to take the money and put it towards a new Tribute!!!
I was really eyeballing an '02 miata they had on the
showroom floor...but hey it's her money, I'm just
trying to help her in her decision as best as I could.
I'm still not sure if we will even be able to get the
car back from the insurance company, but I'll keep you
posted.
Take care,
Buddy
