Dennis gets going again:
> From Nats 2000. Winners:
No, let's look at Nats 2000 _entries_. And compare SP with Stock,
Prepared, Mod, and SM. The demographics of a class involve more
than just the winning car.
Once again, SP ain't broke. Look at the entry numbers. _All_ of
them. The _new_ SP class (FSP) did better than SM in terms of
entries at Nats 2000. And that's just one class.
SM's rules aren't yet sufficiently stable for anyone - even
someone as omniscient as yourself - to make credible assertions
about where it'll wind up. You can't even offer a rational
explanation for the cars that have been excluded from SM. The
minimum weight idea is a perfect example of the class's current
difficulties: it's tailor-made to provide whining fodder for
anybody who thinks his particular choice of car isn't getting a
fair shake.
Come back when SM has proven that it can survive as a Category.
Then we can have a real discussion. At this point, it's just pipe
dreams. Before SM replaces a successful Category, wouldn't you
agree that it should be required to demonstrate a similar level
of success?
