I realize that, but do any of them offer national competition on the scale
the SCCA does? What about locality? I know of no other clubs with
well-developed rules/classing structures available in my area. IMO, marque
clubs don't satisy the well-developed classing structure with a multitude of
classes for their marque and an X class for everything else

I've never seen a true sports car turned away from an SCCA event provided it
was safe. It seems to me that BS is composed of modern sports cars in the
classic sports car spirit. Then you have SS...sports cars or grand touring
cars? Or do you mean classic/vintage sports cars? What about ASP? DSP?
FSP? DP? AP? DM? EM?

Hmmm...ASP, DSP, FSP, AP, DP, FP, DM, and EM all seem to be classes where
the vintage/classic sports cars can do well with the chance to win. If I am
wrong here, please enlighten me, because if vintage/classic sports cars are
doing well in those classes, your argument appears flawed. I guess that all
depends on how you define classic/vintage sports car. You'll have a tough
time telling me, and I'd wager most other folks, that the old Loti, LBC's,
Porches, etc. aren't classic/vintage sports cars, though.
I am not trying to attack you personally. I just want to understand your
reasoning and facts.
