I was looking over the y2k Topeka results pondering what top cars you could
walk into a dealer & buy new, and their general prices:
SS Z06 $50k
AS S2000 $30k
BoxterS $40k?
BS Miata $25k
CS no competitive new cars
DS ??? Will the new ACR's be competitive? Will they have their own class
next year?
ES Older Celica ST seems to be the car. Newer GT's not quite up to speed?
FS F-body $25k
GS ITR $25k
HS Will the Protoge' be competitive?
I guess what this made me wonder most is this: It seems there are several
new(or soon to be released)cars in the $16-$20k range which would be good autox
cars in their own merit, but under the present classing(and most recent
restructuring proposal)don't have much chance at national-level competition.
Should this be factored into any restructure proposal??
Just thinking of the future.
