Can't belts rip if they are stretched across some relatively sharp edge? I
know they can. I've seen 3" cargo belts on ratchet straps cut clean in half
by nothing sharper than the metal edge of an ATA approved flight case. I'm
not saying this is what happened but a blanket statement that belts don't
rip is not 100% true.
