If it is just simple stripes you want, your favorite auto body shop may do
it.

Now helmet specialists are better, to be sure .. if one is handy to you. If
you want some artistry like you see on pro helmets of today, that is
probably beyond your body shop.

I had my favorite body man do mine, which is just a simple 2-color design
with my name on it. I had my name done in vinyl cutout letters (just like
what goes on the car). Had him paint the helmet, then put the lettering on,
then took it back and he put a few coats of clearcoat on it.

With such a simple design, I've taped off and painted my earlier helmets
myself (block letters, not a fancy typeface, and no clearcoat).

Car paint works fine.
